I joined way too much in high school!
During football season I was in the marching band,
Later in the year it was jazz band and orchestra
During basketball season, I was a cheerleader
I was on the yearbook team
Partook in thesbians and art club
and of course student council.
Mom and Dad would let me do all of this as long as I kept my grades up at a B average.
Now, all I think about is what could I have done if I didn't have all of those practices, events etc and used that time more wisely to study? I could have "BEEN" something!
on the other hand, I am something, I am a Mommy who can tell their children that I am well rounded and in high school...I had a good time!

When I was in school I was involved in all kinds of sports like track, basketball, and volleyball. I was busy all the time. I benifited alot from it. I learned alot of things and also kept myself healthy. I am in good physical condition because of it. I would love to be able to play on a volleyball team again. Thats my fav sport!

Oh yes. I played at varsity level for 5 years in school. I started in 8th grade. I also remember watching my mom play when I was younger. Some of her friends would play ball with me and taught me so much!!! Man Its so much fun!

When I was in high school I played soccer for all four years. I definitely think that it was worth the time that I put into it. It kept me out of trouble and kept me fit and active. I did play in a community league for a few years after I graduated, but had to quit when I had my children. It definitely helped me by showing me the importance of teamwork (as my coach would say "There's no I in team") and how to deal with the pressures of balancing school and practices. I guess you could say it helped me learn to multi-task.

I swam in my school years and I think it served me well. I discovered I was actually not opnly a good sprinter, but good at the 800, which is 16 laps. You have to have the ability to dig out something extra to be able to do the 800, and that was a nice thing to know about myself. It has served me well ever since.
