have you been to a battlefield? like gettysburg

Yes I have only been to gettysburg. The silence there was unbelieveable. It was like everybody was silence and just trying to absorb what happened there. It makes me sad to visit but I think it is important not to forget and to pay your respect.

Actually I did visit a place like this when I was younger and still in school . It was acutally very fascinating and I have always wanted to take my children there as they have never been to visit anything like this . While I was there you couldn't help but feel as though you were in another time and realize how much has changed over the years and what these people had to go through . I can remember having some bread that they made in one of the buildings they had set out that was from that era and it was actually not to bad . They showed us all how it was made and it was so different from the way we do things today . They had people dressed up in uniforms and it was definitely very interesting .

I've never been to an actual battlefield. It would be interesting to tour one though. I have been to an area in upstate new york which was a site of the 1812 war. it was right across the river from canada and apparently the british were sending bombs across the river into NY.

I've never ever have seen a real battlefield before. However, I definitely do want to see one sometime. Gettysburg, Antietam... Speaking of which, has anyone ever seen a WWII battlefield, such as Iwo Jima or Normandy?
