What is it with men and the remote control??? |
|
I don't understand what the big deal is with the remote control. When my husband is home, he insists on being in charge of the remote. I don't understand why he won't share. I get tired of asking him to please turn down the volume or would he please change the channel to see what else is on. Then he gets mad because he has to use the remote for something. I just don't get it.

1. mrsbrian (1699) | 3 years ago | I believe its a man thing,I think there is a little alien in there that makes a man feel like he is in charge of something when he has the tv remote, its really the only thing that he can make do something and it listens right off, see he dosnt get to be in charge of to many things at home so that is his only power a little tiny box that he can boss around. lol

babyboo3980 (1333) | 3 years ago | Its a good idea getting your own remote...but it just struck me funny becuase the hubby could enjoy the volume it is at already, or the channel...Then along comes the sneaky little wife with her remote changing the channel and volume...To me, that would get irritating after awhile, and it wouldn't be such a good idea anymore, and I think it would just cause more arguments.

howard96h (5694) | 3 years ago | That is a possibility but then again maybe he will learn to stop hogging "their" tv.

| woobie (59) | 3 years ago | That is so funny Babyboo!!! Now I want to get a second remote just to see the look on hubby's face when the channels start changing when he's not touching his remote.

3. jmespinosa82 (389) | 3 years ago | This is so funny. My dad was like this and so was my grandma though. Fortunatly my husband isn't and he will ask me if there is something I want to watch first. Unless it is poker and he will insist on watching poker but thats ok I like it too. I guess I have learned to be very flexible since he works so hard and I am home all day then I let him have the tv time at nite.

4. nicolecab (355) | 3 years ago | i will never understand this myself. I can be in the middle of watching a show or a movie and if my husband comes in to watch tv he just expect me to hand over the controler. i can not stand it!!!
| |
| |
|
|
| woobie (59) | 3 years ago | My husband is actually pretty good about this one -- he will be polite enough to ask if its okay to change the channel if I am watching something that he doesn't like. He just won't hand over that darn remote once its in his hands.

nicolecab (355) | 3 years ago | yep once he has it its his. i just also have to deal with haveing to change the channel in the middle of me watching something. I dont get it we have 3 tvs in the house and they want the controler to the one your watching it never fails.

babyboo3980 (1333) | 3 years ago | yeah lol...We have a tv in our bedroom, and one in the living room...he can easily go out there and watch tv...he's got a comfy couch and a coffee table too...But noooooo....he has to watch THAT tv in the bedroom, and have a death grip on the remote too...

|
|
nicolecab (355) | 3 years ago | i feel your pain babyboo!!! Now we just need to come up with a way to get them to pick one of the tvs that are free and not the only one that you are watching!!!

6. mimpi1911 (8076) | 3 years ago | i think, i gotta do with them being controlled remotely by women and they want purgation through the small box!! lol..
jokes apart, most men do that. i have noticed that mken are more keen on changing channels than women who generally would prefer to stick to a few ones. for that reason, perhaps, men want to keep the control in their hands.
however, i donot have any problem in this issue. i live with my parents and my father being very sweet would never want to be in charge.

7. scarlet2000 (1345) | 3 years ago | It's a man thing. The same thing goes on in my house. Whenever I think the volume is turned up too much I just go over to the tv and turn it down myself. I do not want to hear the tv that is in the living room in another room especially upstairs.
| |
| |
|
|
| woobie (59) | 3 years ago | My husband has the same problem with volume. It seems like he goes deaf as soon as I go to bed. I can turn on the tv in the bedroom, close the door and still hear everything that is happening on whatever show he's watching in the livingroom at the other end of the house.
