Roger Clemens leaving the Astros

Well, Houston baseball fans were hit below the belt yesterday when Roger Clemens stood up before the fans at Yankee Stadium and announced that he will pitch for them! A lot of fans here in Houston are bitter. Many are saying he went for the money instead of his loyalty to his hometown and his hometown fans. He will now make about $4.5 million per month for 4 months. Like he really needs the money. How would you feel if your hometown hero sports star dumped your local team for another?

Unfortunately, sports people are going for the money rather than their loyalty to a team. It is happening in all sports. They are treating it more like a business than for the love of the game. Many people in other careers change companies so this should not really be that different.

Good point. I dont begrudge anyone getting better pay. But $25 mill/ 28 mill? It just proves that we should all watch what we say because someone will hold us to it. When he started with the Astros he was "happy" but like you say $$$$.

I guess he needs a little more money for retirement.
