Something to think about  

Yes that is the thing. The drugs may be not suited to certain race of people or knowingly a country want to terrorize by sending duplicate expired medicines and make the country affected with diseases. When it comes over lives of people decisions should be taken very carefully.

I agree with you completely we dont if they are safe or not or if we are getting what we are suppose to be getting,i would bbe scared to take any thing from another country i am scaed to what i get here at home some times because i allergic to so many things.

this is ridiculous for sure because the drugs in canda for the most part are made by the same companies that makes them for the us it is just another big business money making scam on the american people !

The quality is one concern, another is the people getting the drugs without prescription. You are not sure if a drug is right for you or your affliction or what side affects it may have with other medications you are taking. Another things without a prescription, many people could be abusing the drug. There are many generic forms of drugs now in our own pharmacies. It may be that the foreign country is adding something to the drug that could be potentially dangerous to the user as well. Without some sort of standard control, if a death ensues because of medications not given by the persons doctor through prescription or through a pharmacy, it may be hard to deduce where it comes from.

My friend has been getting me my birth control pills from Mexico for 3 years. I checked the expiration date and it's 2009. Instead of 30 bucks for one month, it is 6 bucks for 3 months. I have had no problem whatsoever. I am regular and not pregnant! Yes, I wish America had a better prescription system so I didn't have to go south for my medicine. Until America takes better care of it's residents, I will applaud those who figure out how to get what they need at an affordable price.

Yep, I'm all for buying 'made in America' but do not agree with big companies taking American jobs someplace else and then insisting we buy the product. I say if they are going to do it for a few they should for all - as far as pharmaceutical products that choice should be up to the consumer.

I actually think that it's a crock. The reason and only reason they don't want us to buy meds from Canada is the fact that it will cut into their big profit. It's not a question of quality. I have spoken to several people who ;ive in canada and they rave about their health care for the elderly. Do you think that they would let a company produce sub par scripts for their elderly. I think not. It's all about the money.

That is an extremely interesting topic. I had never looked at that way before but you are correct. If the name brand of medication is the same and made by the same American company then I would think they would have the same quality control procedures.

I had not thought of it quite that way, but the "safe drug" argument does not hold water, given the recent FDA track record. I think that senior citizens should be able to "outsource" the things they need as well.
