Medication for ADHD

Just before my son had his diagnosies of ADHD, he started on going for this medication cald Concerta. I was amaced about how god this medication realy worked. Now hi wont be without it for any reason at al. WHY, you might ask, well becouse the medication helps him to concentrate and focus in his mission in school. Before he starated he couldent do is work properly, he simply did not functiond at al.

My 13 year old is also on Concerta and has been since he was 4 years old. If he does not take it he can't control himself and does not function properly. He has violent mood swings, which are controlled, at least in part by the medication. Some kids need these medications and some kids do not. I have had people try to tell me that he did not need to be on any medication, but if you are like me and see a big improvement, do not let anyone convince you that it is wrong.

Not often, but it does happends he forgot to take his pil in the morning. But I have given his teacher some if that should happends. He directly feels and then tell his teachers so he can get a pil in school. Sometimes yoour head is not with you. Noone can confince me to stop my son for taking the pills, becouse he knowes he need them. He is eger to function as god as possible. What I mean is that the sience are not agreed about if the children should have the medication. I mean, they should ask the children them selfs.

I also leave some with the school for my son so that they can give him some if he does not get it at home. If it is forgotten at home, he knows it and so do his teachers just by his behavior. It does not take long before he is asking for his medication.

Thank´s for responding again. this is for shore a god topics of discussions.
As soone as the children get the medication they fuction alright. My son has realy been worked on the medication. And he now have got god grades in the most important topics in school. Of course he will not have grades in everey topics, that´s was to much for him to work on. But in maths, Swedish language, and of course English. And every practikal topics he have managed grades. It´s the teoraticalls topics that have been harder to work on. To read and remember and to use it in tests have been difficulties. But He is proud of him self. And in next schoolyear he starts the gymnasium(senior high school)

one of my son has adhd also. He been on it for a few months or so. That does help him better, but he does have to take other with it because he has other issues but concerta does real good for him.

Hello, and thank you for responding.
I was surprised when I noticed the god effect in a minute. But as You son, my son has to take some pills in the evenings to because of his lack of sleep.
ADHD are an issue with lots of problems to solve. Med ma bee not the only help they need. I hope he also get support from different ways in the community.
