The song by Hank Snow (I've Been Everywhere) is excluded. Ian Tyson mentions my province in a song called: 500 miles away from home, Ray Griff mentions our country and my city in a song called :Canada. There are other songs, but i would like to know about your town, city or country!

The city I live in and the city I where I was born are both mentioned in Dancing In The Streets.

Cool! Is the singers first name Martha? A good song with a good upbeat tempo. Take care Sarahruthbeth.

You are correct. Martha and the Vandellas recorded it in 1964. I remember that David Bowie and Mick Jagger covered it in the 80's.

I really don't think there is a song mentioning my town, which is called Grimsby, and is on the north east coast of England. If there is such a song, i've not heard it! Maybe i should write one? ;-)

There's eeally two different cities I have called home. My parents raised me for my first year of life in San Francisco, which has a few songs... how about "I Left My Heart (In San Francisco)". And then there is San Jose, where I spent most of my life... "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?" two calssic songs about my 'hoods... lol.

The Beatles song "When I'm Sixty Four" mentions the Isle Of wight where I live, I can't think of any other songs off hand that do. A lot of poetry has been written on the Isle Of wight however, Tennyson wrote a lot of his work here.

I think Paul is about that age now and Ringo is older right? I find it interesting about these names of towns and cities. I didn't know that one. Take care Nancyrowina.
