Father in Law is in love - earplugs please! |
| |
| Before I get flamed by everyone over 60, please let me assure you I am delighed to be arranging for the remarriage of my Father in Law. I am not so delighted that "s*x on the beach" has been playing full blast almost 24/7 ever since he came home. I have offered headphones, but he does not want to damage his hearing. Any advice, anyone, before I go totally and irrevocably insane?PS he is an electrician, so the duff fuse switch won't be of any help. | | | | | |

| | Oh what a wonderful friend you are! Those are ALL excellent ideas. Trouble is, we live near a town, and there are a lot of CD shops, and it could get very expensive . . . | | | |

| | Sounds like a job for gabs, that, does, YOU go and tell them, as they just might listen to you lol. Has been quieter today as they moved a bit more of the room around and they could not reach the player lololol. | | | |

| | Well, my friend, I would say if the record has been playing full blast 24/7 since he came home, chances are that EVERYbody's hearing has been damaged, so tell him not to be so selfish or the record might break in retaliation.... over his head! lol. | | | | | | |

| | oh LOL Darkwing! I love it! Can't do that though :-( we are a peaceful household (huh! lol!). It is quiet today as they are doing more rearranging. I am being exorcised from that room, you will be amazed next time you visit. | | | |

| | Those chicken livered red and blue pigeons wouldn't dive bomb him but they might throw a seed or two into his tea, as they did last night lololol. Yup, it really does feel as if I am being completely erased. Even the photos of my parents have been put onto a shelf where they can only be seen if you look for them. I think it is time for those crows to move on! | | | |

| | Huh! The birds are total chickie wickies and they keep well away. It is calming down a bit now as there is not much more that can be crammed into my office space. The music has stopped for a while, because I managed to lose the lead to the CD player when I was tidying up. Such a shame . . . | | | |

| | Hi Shelagh, Oh well in regards to your father in law probably you do need to buy some ear plugs, if the music is so loud, some people at this age do not like to use headphones but I think that if he is around near you, then you had best use them so that you do not go deaf ... | | | | | | |

| | That isn't the point, I am trying to work here and my members think it is hilarious that I forgot to send a link, again! Also, the floor transference is like my feet are on an earthquake! They are going shopping soon and I feel a spot of sabotage coming on . . . | | | |

| | Encourage him to go be with the lucky lady would be my first suggestion! Love for the over 60's has to be done quickly or she may move onto the next likely looking lad. My dad was single for almost 3 months when mum died and he's having so much fun with the new lady he met so I'm happy for him! Life is best when there's a love interest, tell him to go to her and take the chance to be happy, that way you make two lonely people a new life and you get to remove the earplugs. | | | | | | |

| | Yes, but just one point rainbow. He gave up his home because he wants to emigrate and they sent him back so he doesn't have anywhere to take her to, except . . . I am happy for him but I have a life too and at the moment that life is being crammed into a 3ft x 3ft space in the bedroom and I am having to fight to keep that! It is my name on the rent book and I pay all the bills, but I am literally a shadow here at the moment and the noise is driving me crazy too. He can't go back until 1st November . . . | | | |

| | Oh my gosh, can't you get the council to rehouse him as you're overcrowded or something? I'm sure being in love and wanting a new life is fantastic fun but no-ones going to be having fun if this continues. Rearranging your whole life is bound to cause problems, especially if you@re feeling invaded and before long you will be. I'd have to find a way for them to get a lovenest somewhere nearby, good luck my darling, apart from the annoying song, this is not amusing at all. Feeling like a shadow is going to get you down, you know where I am if you want to vent rather than turn the leccy off at the box, shame he's an electrician. | | | |

| | Well, we are not overcrowded as we are allowed 3. This is because they wanted a get out clause when they wrote the rent book so that people who had a baby were not automatically rehoused, as 3 is not overcrowding. Oh he is having fun, trust me. I am the only one who is not having fun. Oh, I lost the lead to the CD player whilst I was clearing up, quel dommage! :-) I have been able to work all day today, and I am working on a novel about this situation, just the draft as I have one work in progress, and I can see a lot of funny things there. Sort of Bridget Jones Dad goes on holiday with Beverley Hills Cop in Jamaica. | | | |

"lost the lead" eh, that was a shame, maybe you could loose the cd too? ooops what am I saying, such an upset for you all. I'm glad you've had a bit of peace today, well overdue - make the most of that hour! | | | |

| | Let us get one thing crystal. I am very pleased for him that he has found somebody, when he finds somewhere to live it is going to disrupt our lives again as Other Half will be getting the place ready and then we have to relocate all his stuff that is scattered through four sheds and physically get the stuff moved, help him get curtains etc up and also we shall be meeting his Lady and making her welcome etc. I have no problems with that. It is the time BEFORE she gets here I am having very severe problems with. At least we know I do not have it in me to clobber anyone, lololololol. Well, they are both out but if you could see the paperwork I got here to sort out in this the only peace I am going to get, sob! They are finishing off some tiles for the neighbour at the weekend. The neighbour paid someone to do the work and they just didn't finish it! So while he is on his holiday they are going in and finishing all the little jobs for him. So it is going to be bedlam. Instead of yelling me from another room, they will be yelling me from the kitchen of another flat. boy! do you know any other Gal who has so much fun! | | | |
