A neighbor and I are thinking about doing weddings this summer, but we don't have a tax number.
We don't think that we are going to make huge amounts of money, and really just like to do the work and help newly married couples pay for flowers at a much cheaper price than at the florists.
But, we can't buy wholesale unless we have a tax number! Is there any way around this...do you have any home business tips for us?

Hm, that is tough, but when I had a child care business in my home, my tax ID number was my SSN. I was told that when I went thru the licensing process. Maybe you could do the same. I don't see why not. I'd call the 1800 IRS number and ask if it would be possible for you to just give your SSN in lieu of the tax id number. Good luck!

its not hard to just get a tax id number.. or in a lot of cases you can make it a sole propriertership on paper and just use your social security number.. the reason the wholesalers wont sell to you without the number is because a lot of them ship on credit and they have to have a recourse to get assets out of your business if you default...
