How many of you have used a Generic Infant Formula(store brand)for your baby? Did you like it?

My son drank pumped breastmilk for his first 3 months of life and then he was switched to Similac Advance because of Wic. He continued with Similac until about 8 months old and then I was denied WIC and in a huge financial bind so I tried Walmart's Parents Choice brand and I love it. It costs almost half the price of Similac but it has almost the same nutritional value. It had the EXACT SAME ingrediants as Enfamil Lipil. He continued with generic formula until 14 months old and he is now on whole milk.

I used enfamil lipil at first and then i found a generic brand at sam's club that was the same exact ingredients as enfamil lipil and a whole lot cheaper. For a 50.4 oz can of formula we were paying 19.38. Not bad at all considering the little cans are 12 dollars and something and he has had no problems with it at all.

I breastfed my son until he was 6 months old, he then decided on his own that he was done. We switched to formula, and tried a few different ones. We didn't really notice any differences, no matter what he drank! We used Parents Choice the most, too. It's so much cheaper, and we got coupons for it every month. It worked out well for us. Now he's 15 months old, and has been on whole milk since right after he turned 1.

Oh, Lucky you! I never got coupons for Parent's Choice formula. I wonder why? Oh well, it's too late now because my son is on whole milk.

We used Parent's Choice with our girls too. It was awesome. We saved so much money since we didn't spend it on the name brand formulas. There was no reason for it! The Name Brands charge so much because of their marketing costs. They spend so much money on their free samples to the hospitals, and advertisements then they pass on that cost to the consumers.
All infant formula manufacturers have to follow the same nutritional guidelines set by the FDA. If you check their ingredients lists, and nutrition information, you'll find that they are nearly identical!
If you haven't had a chance to look at the store, Parent's Choice has nutrition and ingredients labels on their site. http://parentschoiceformula.com
They also have a formula savings calculator where you can see how much money you'd save if you used Store Brands instead of the name brands. It's crazy to see the numbers in print!

I never used generic infant formula with my child. I have breastfed him and when I'm he'd drink pumped breastmilk (from me). As alternate, I'd use branded infant milk. I don't really know there is such a thing as generic infant formula and even if I knew, I think I will still stick to branded Infant Formula to be sure. happy
