Can we have a better world!!  | | | |  Looking at history we can conclude that we have evolved in our social infrastructure, politically and economically and in other important and not so important aspects of society. From individual life in stone age to feudalism to capitalism and communism to may be a mixed form in present day world.
In economic systems, Following scientific and industrial revolution in late 17th century we had capitalism, rewarding more to more deserving individuals but having little for underprivileged (physically, mentally and economically) members of society. Then we had communism, loved more by poor members of society, which rewards on equal basis and doesn’t take care of more deserving members of society, no matter how hard or better they try. Proposed by Marx and applied by Lenin and Stalin as well as Mao Zedong. Stalinist communism is dead but Mao communism with some changes is still thriving. There are other models also but I’ve limited myself to these two models. Similarly the capitalist model proposed by Europe and adopted more by America (present day best example) has changed over time and now it incorporates more socialist views than before. In present day world we only see a mélange of these two pure theories. There is another model, that is Islamic economic system, which not only rewards more to more deserving members of society but also has a obligatory charity system to help poor.
On Political front: Originally pure Communism is a very beautiful model but it couldn’t take off from first rather transition step of dictatorship of proletariat, towards pure communism. It only reminds us of impossibility of human perfection. In theory, Democracy is also a very beautiful model but practically we see that no two countries have same definition. In Europe specially France street power still exerts it’s strength but in America or Israel, we have seen president and prime minister still in charge never mind there approval rating below 30 and 10% respectively. apparently, there is no observable pure communist or democratic political model.
Do you see the possibility of evolution in political and economic systems such that it is universally acceptable? How that can be achieved? Can you think of a mechanism to achieve that goal?
I would really appreciate your thoughts, May be We are in a process of defining the process:-)

| |  I am seeing greater and greater interest in Native culture and wisdom both in America and in other countries as well. We seek the wisdom of cultures that have survived for hundreds, even thousands of years, to learn how to live in community, how to save the earth, how to cure disease, how to incorporate spirituality in everyday life, and other philosophies.
I subscribe to a peroidical called Ode that highlights people and movements that are working for positive change throughout the world. It is heartening to see this. I'm also a trustee in a local Native American Indian Center and more and more people, non-indian and non-indian alike, are asking to learn about the culture.
We are seeing people come to the realization that we, indeed, ARE all connected, just as the indigenous people have always known. The more we learn about the realities of global warming, the clearer that becomes.

| | I have nothing but to agree with you:-) There is much wisdom in history that we can find and your efforts in this regard are commendable.
I too believe When we learn that we are one and have to be to survive, we are moving in positive direction. There are instances, though, when it appears that we are nullifying the positive efforts and have adopted a back gear.
It's not a matter of choice now, for us to decide wether we need to unite or not, it's a must.

If we can evolve in history why don't you believe that we can do the same now and in future? we have better resources, education and development now which will help us evolve better and faster. what do you think? have a nice day

| |  Sorry i couldn't read the entire discussion. But I think it is possible if and only if people consider other people. I think the main problem we have is this idea of wanting to dominate other people and stay on top. I think if people appreciate each other and really appreciate their differences, then it is very possible to achieve that. But this is just a dream for now.
