Do you walk around a water puddle or through it???? |
Well, psychologically speaking, I guess it could tell a lot about a person, just watching them on a rainy day, trying to get across a puddle. But I don't know anything more about that, so let's just leave it at the fact, that I'm just curious to know... For me, I guess it depends on what shoes I'm wearing, if it's sandals which I don't usually wear on rainy days, then I would definitely go around that puddle, but if I'm wearing sneakers or something like that, then that little puddle won't look that threatening and I'll be going right through it. What about you?? Do you avoid puddles even if it means taking a long way around, or do you risk it and walk right through?

| 1. HarlemsFlyest212 (86) | 3 years ago | Unless the puddle looks like a river..I'm walking straight through it. I never wear sandals so thats not a worry for me. However, I do have suede boots and sneakers that I would walk around a puddle for. Even in that case, I would think twice before wearing them outside on a rainy day. It might be because I'm lazy, or it might be that I still have that kid in me that likes a little splash.

vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | Yeah, I wouldn't wear sandals or my good boots out in the rain myself, but puddles aren't always caused by rains, so that can catch you off-guard. If I'm not wearing good shoes, then like you, I like to let the kid in me out for just a little while, although the kid doesn't ever stay in for long times anyway..

2. lightningMD (5658) | 3 years ago | If it is raining out then I'm probably already wet so alittle puddle wouldnt bother me. If the puddle looks deep I'm going around. I have been known to play in the puddles with the kids during a nice warm rain before. It was really fun.
| |
| |
vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | That sounds good. Although the rainy season here, is only in the winter, and it won't be that much fun playing in the cold rain here. I guess if it were summer rain, it would be a whole different story for me....

3. lordwarwizard (10401) | 3 years ago | Definitely be AROUND it unless there is no way around it. But half the time, I find that the "around route" turns out to be a bad choice. Yes, this means that unless the alternative way is ridiculously long, I will take the long way even if it is longer just so that I can avoid the puddle.
| |
| |
vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | Yeah, sometimes the alternative way turns out to be even more worse. It's happened to us all, I'm sure. At least the puddle is a clear warning, but those muddy areas around the puddle which we think are safe, can be creepily more disgusting and more sneaky than the regular puddle.

4. KissThis (2636) | 3 years ago | For me it depends on the size of the puddle. If it is just a small puddle I will walk through it without much thought to what I am doing. If it is a larger puddle that appears to be more then an inch or two I will find another path around it because I don't want to get my shoes soaking wet. i don't mind if I get my feet a little wet but I don't want them to get soaking wet.
| |
| |
vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | What if it's one of those sneaky puddles??? The kind that Bruce steps into, in "Bruce almighty". It's never happened to me, but I'm sure it's happened to someone...

5. complexvanilla (570) | 3 years ago | Hey vega, firstly congrats on breaking the 1000 post mark!!! As far as navigating puddles go, we seem to have similar tastes! It depends totally on what footwear I'm wearing! I really hate getting water into my shoes. My toes don't take kindly to rain water, so I hardly venture out wearing slippers or sandals. If I'm wearing shoes that are not water proof, I go to all lengths to avoid getting my feet wet, else I just plow through them!

vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | Hey thanks for noticing, I just made my 1000th post yesterday, I even remember which discussion it was. It was about eyeglasses vs. lenses. Yeah, we do have similar tastes here. It's just a little puddle anyway..

6. kimlot (4368) | 3 years ago | I am not a water person so I have to admit that I walk around it unless it is a real hot day and then I will walk under a water sprinkler just to cool off!

vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | hmm... I guess that makes sense, it all depends, right??

7. neo_matrix (506) | 3 years ago | In the rainy season it depends on my mood which will decide to walk around a water poodle or through it. To walk through the poodle during the rainy season, i can't explain the feeling comes when one forces its way through it and it should be raining heavily i generally love to do that during the rainy season an enjoy every bit of it,u cannot do that in any other season
| |
| |
vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | Yeah, I guess if you're already wet in the rain, then a little puddle won't really make all that of a difference, but if it's a puddle for a different reason, then that changes everything.

8. PunkyMcPunk (1093) | 3 years ago | Well, I'm silly and sometimes a bit childish and immature. So of course I will walk through the puddble. If I am wearing shoes then fine, if I am wearing boots then even better because I will thump my feet down and make splashes, yes like a kid. If I'm wearing sandels... that would be iffey, I guess it depends on if the puddle had garbage in it or not.
| |
| |
vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | Yeah, I didn't even think of that, if the puddle is clean or the dirty type....

9. denjie (278) | 3 years ago | One of my pet peeves is getting my feet wet. Hence, I am the type who would avoid puddles. Although when I am in a hurry, I normally don't notice the puddles and end up walking right through them. I agree that the types of shoes you wear also makes a big difference. If I'm wearing boots (leather or rubber), I can walk right through them:)
| |
| |
vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | ooh, pet peeve alert!! ha ha. Yeah, rubber boots are fine, but I'm not sure I would wanna risk that with my leather boots.

10. hoghoney (2408) | 3 years ago | Well I can say that most of the time I will just walk through the puddle. sometimes where we live at the street will flood if we get alot of rain and we will play with the kids in the water. but yes water puddles are fun.
| |
| |
vega83 (1416) | 3 years ago | Yeah, they can be fun, if it's the right season for them, they're not so much fun in the winter, which is when we get most of our puddles.
