| | It would be a great experience for the kids but the money aspect is difficult unless one of you does a job that is needed everywhere like plumbing or carpentry. Have you looked to see if there are any books out there by people who already did it? | | | | | | |

| | I certainly think that if you really want to do this and are really thinking of living on the road that you could definitely do it. There are a lot of people that live on the road most of the year if not all of it. I don't see why adding kids to the equation should be that much of a bigger step in the chain of things. Especially if you are already home schooling them. You could maybe check into at home work through firms in bigger cities and see what you find. Work places are starting to branch out for people that don't want to communte to work, so why not traveling? Maybe you could try getting an column in a magazine about traveling or something similar. Utilize what you will be doing and make some extra money. There could be endless ideas for you to make money while on the road, you just have to find the right one for you and your husband. I hope that you find what you are looking for and that you get to experience this with your kids. It will most certainly bring you all closer together as a family. ;) | | | | | | |

| | Wow! This is a fantastic idea. I see you live in the USA. So in winter you could travel in the warmer southern states. In autumn you could enjoy the golden crispy leaves falling in the cooler northern states. Your children will get a 'hands on' education that will be more valuable than any book. I am a teacher and I teach in schools. But I do support home schooling. I know two girls that live in the UK near to France. They go over there quite often. I can't think of a better way to learn to speak French. I have seen children that move from school to school and it can be unsettling for them. However home schooling is perfect. Your children will still be able to mix with many other people when they are not in lessons. Personally I would teach English as a foreign languge if I wanted to travel around the world working in different places. I often dream of buying a camper van. I would work for half the year on a short term teaching contract and travel for the rest of the year in my camper van. That way my children could have 6 months focused education then relax with 6 months essential education on the road. Reading, writing and number work can be done anywhere I think. | | | | | | |
