How do you press the cloths?

I start with cotton with hot iron and then reduce the heat gradually with respect to woolens, rayons, and Teri-cottons. At last press the nylons and synthetics just switching off the iron. In this way I save some electricity.

Nice tip Ronimas. You always have these great tips about saving money. I will follow this method next time I iron our clothes. It's true that ironing takes a lot of electricity. My sister in-law used to have a certain plan with her electric company that gives her lower rates when she uses electricity at night. So she runs the washer and dryer at night as well as all her ironing.

Yes Votreamie, it is a nice tip and thanks to that laundry boy from whom I got the idea. Very often he comes to my house to collect cloths. One day I had to him due to delay in delivery. There I saw he segregated cotton, nylon, woolen etc and start pressing cotton first. Curiously, I asked him why he did so. He replied, Madam how do you not know this basic simple thing. Electricity is precious, I did it to save some electricity. You imagine Votreamie how embarrassing that was for me? Really sometimes, younger are more mtured than the older.

Very clever of you! This is how it should be done to avoid wastage of energy. This is the most scientific way to use the iron box. I would add further that one can prevent loss of heat from the hot iron box by putting flat on a tile (an ordinary floor tile can be bought for this purpose and kept on a table/ stool).

In electric iron, electrical energy is converted to heat energy. With your valuable adding, I get the idea to save more heat energy which in other way enables me to save more electricity. Norstar, I really thankful for your great tip.
