well,i think it is hard to tell.
c is used widely in hardware and if you know some c language,it will not be difficult for you to learn c++.
c++ is more used in software development,as far as i know, and i think it is more difficult than c.
and no matter which one is better,if one grasp one of them,it is easy to transfer to another.i think all languages have something in common basically.what do you think?

I agree, and would like to add that not only is it easier to migrate to c++ from c, it was not so difficult to learn c++ knowing Delphi! I don't know why, but I found a lot of similarities, though they are different... I think it would be more interesting to speak about different c++ compilers, not just differences between "father" and "son". :)
