| | Post workout I use gatorade and a whey protein powder. I use both because they are fast acting and give the muscles what they need, when they need it. For post workout and meeting the bodies needs not all foods are created equal. For post workout fruit is not ususally the best choice because it does not provide the nutrition directly to the working muscles. Fruit contains fructose. Fructose is more readily converted in to liver glycogen than muscle glycogen. Also, the fiber in fruit slows the digestion. Personally I don't use any other products for my workouts.
