Do you have pet names for normal everyday people in your life?

I am not talking about close friends and family, I am talking about strangers or people you see everyday but have no relationship with like cashiers and such.
When I go to the store I hear people all the time calling other hun, honey, sweetie, sugar and such. Not that this is a bad thing, but it just seems strange to call a complete stranger by an endearing term. Better then them calling them but rude names lol.
Do you do this? What endearing names do you use for strangers?

LOL no, I just say Ma'am or sir usually. On the flipside there is this really nice lady that works at the burger king here on base, she always calls my hubby sweetie and he likes it, lol and I think she's really nice. I guess some people can get away with it, but others it just seems weird.

Hi,dragonokiefly!!
I have noticed some people call others such as honey, suger or something else.Maybe this situation is really not good enough.
I don't like the shopping assistants call me sweetie,it really makes me feel uncomfortable.I do care the sweetie from their voice. The sweetie makes me think that they just want me to buy something so that they call me SO closely.

I think pet names like sweetie an hun should be reserved for people you actually know. To me it is not natural to say things like that to strangrs. I do not feel comfortable if people I have never seen before call me things like that either.

i love calling people by their first name... unless they ask me to call them by their nick names or pet names.
