Do you get involved in the squables at work?  |

|  I work in the clothing department of a fairly new store, in childrens mostly. So, I'm the only person other than the manager in my department who is over 25 and the only one who isn't assigned to womens' fashion. The past few days the young girls have been coming to me one at a time and conplaining about each other, how nobody else seems to be doing any work in womens' wear. Truth be told, they are all slacking off quite badly. They expect me to get involved and report to the manager about them slacking off. As if she doesn't know who is and isn't working. So, today, the manager came to me and bluntly asked if there was aome griping and argueing going on, so I told her the truth. And now, I've been told NOT to help them, but just to stick to my own area and let them sink or swim on their own. Then she called them all in theback room and reamed them all out. Now, they are all mad at me, because I didn't stick up for at least one of them. I hate working with young kids!

| |  Isn't it a headache to deal with crap such as this at work! For me, I try my best to just do my job and stay out of the squabbles. Sometimes though you find yourself smack in the middle of one despite best efforts to avoid one. If I find myself dragged into one, I tell the truth and move on.

| |  Yes, I understand what you mean. I worked as a manager in a bank for 20 years and most of my tellers were young college students. It was difficult not to get involved in the little arguments they all had! Some of them always think the boss has favorites and it is hard to explain to them that this is not the case!

| |  Oh yeah, I hate any work related issues.
I try to stay away from office squabbles, but it's hard specially when it's between my boss and my boyfriend.
My boyfriend and I are officemates but under two different supervisors, our two supervisors have one boss. Now my boyfriend has some issues with my supervisor and I really don't want to get involved. But I feel like my supervisor is getting cold towards me because of their squabble.
I just stay away from the office drama but I do like to hear about what's going on. yeah, I'm a gossip. So sue me. LOL.
