When is it OK to let your Child deside what he or she is Wearing  

I couldn't say I feel the same way you do imply because I don't have any kids. But I think I would be like you in a way as to give my Child the opurtunity to make there own decisions but only to a certain extent. You have to draw the line some where. I guess why this bothers me so much is because I have a girl come into where I work everyday that is maybe 13 14 and shes pregnant. It just really bothers me that she has to grow up so fast. Even though she is pregnant she still wears cloths to show off what little goods she thinks she has and it makes me wonder if her family even cares.

there is need to dictate for children what they should wear at all times by their parents especially in cold region. transparent wears should be avoided to prevent them from being raped or abused. wearing baggy pants might not be bad for boys but girls should be careful on what they put on...

Sounds to me like your children have respect for you and better yet themselves. I'm glad to hear there are parents that are concerned with what there children are wearing at least until they are all grown up

I agree children do have minds of there own and should have a right to choose what they wear to a certain point. I think we should draw the line some where. Like I said I have no children so its hard for me to agree and disagree. My thoughts to us all having a say in Children lives can be difficult due to what is advertise for children to wear and what is sold on the racks at clothing stores. So I'm sure its hard to control what children wear. Oh and I'm female age 26

genie4670, teach a child the way he should go when he grows up he will not depart from it. why are you not having children? not married yet?

Not in a big hurry to have children. It just concerns me when I see children running around in clothes that could possibly put them in danger. Little girls most. I've been put in that situation more than once unfortunatly. I was't wearing provacative clothing but these thought cross my mind when I see these skimpy clothes on little girls.
