If you go in any of the coffee places on the highstreet these days, like Starbucks for example, do you find that they have a huge list of differnet types of coffee that you can buy and you get totally confused about what they all actually are, when all you really want is just a normal coffee, if that even exists these days! There's frappuchinos, dolce lattes, all sorts of weird and wonderful things that may as well be in a forgeign language. What happened to just a nice cappuchino? (that's as technical as i get!). This is why i avoid those places, oh and the huge prices too. Do you know what any of the fancy names mean, or do you get confused like me?

It all represents different combinations, with ice or not, with cream etc. Usually my daughter tells me what it is. However nothing is equivalent to simple filter coffee.

I study the menus if I am bored in a queue at Starbucks/Costa/wherever, so I am clued up on them through boredom. My favourite hot drink from Starbucks is a Chai Tea Latte. I think they only do it around Christmas-time, but it is BEAUTIFUL. And it goes perfectly with those little caramel waffles they do!

Not really. I love coffee and would love to try every type of coffee there is. My friends and I regular go out for coffee and just hang out there, talking about life, work, relationships. If we see a new 'name' for coffee we instantly ask the staff to describe it for us and if it interests us then we'll buy it.

You are right there are huge lists with different types of coffee in almost all coffee houses now a days however, since I am a coffee lover I sort of enjoy being pampered with so much choice.
Starbukcs usually has a description against each coffee name but one can also ask the 'barista' or the one that sells makes your coffee and they will be happy to explain and help you choose the best coffee for you.
Even though most days I have the same coffee there are many a days that I want something else and the fact that I can do so...is many times worth the price.

I get confused too hezoid. I have always wanted to know what a "frappachino" was and never asked LOL I usually buy the vanilla lattes and on occasion have had a dolce latte just because I wanted to try it out - seems to be my favorite at the moment. The prices can be a bit more than buying regular coffee but I'm a coffee addict and need to have a starbucks fix at least once a week LOL

The first time that I went into a speciality coffee shop, I was shocked to see how many types "coffee" you can get, especially what they call "cappicino". Now, my experience is that cappicino is actually the way you make the coffee, not the flavour. And the NAMES they have for these things....how on earth do you know what you're getting?? Anyway, after I got over my shock, I found a favorite called a "hammerhead" which is espresso mixed with hot chocolate and has a bit of whip cream on top - very strong and very good.
