Adobe Media Player. whats on?

I heard from my friend that recently Adobe has launched a media player that enables high quality flash format playback, view video offline, ability to download etc Please share your experience with it if you have. Presently I use Intervideo Windvd7.

Since Adobe acquired Flash, they are now pushing for Adobe Media Player (or AMP) which will be standard for streaming videos which is used by most streaming video sites like youtube

I don't use adobe to view my videos. I always used real player that is free. I wonder if Adobe is better than real player and in what features they differ. I hope you will get more answers to this discussion to be able to sort this out.
