I agree. I do not think it worked at all. I've seen a steady increase in gas prices here. Some places in and around the city that I've see are $3.23. Im sure there are places right around here that are higher yet. It's crazy. I'm sure the upcoming holiday weekend has something to contribute to the increase in prices. It's really a shame. MAYBE if we are lucky, the prices will go down after the holiday passes. But I won't hold my breath on that.

It actually seems to be more expensive here in Australia since May 15th. Don't know if they think they can punish us but it's about time we started to seriously think about electricity etc!

After I posted the question I did a bit more research. And yes, the coming holiday very likely has an effect on the prices going up. However reports state that even more people will be driving somewhere this weekend.
The solution is to lower the demand, but we are too attached to our vehicles to give them up. I admit I too am guilty of that. I don't walk anywhere anymore. When I lived in New York I walked to most places and on the longer distances I took the bus or the subway. Of course that was before I moved to Texas and bought a car. The public transportation here is not as good as it is in New York.

The prices have gone up, they have gone up more than they went down. Here where I live(Addison, Tx.) it is over 3 bucks a gallon. The same for Arlington(my friend), Euless(my bf), N. Dallas(mom), etc. where I used to drive to all the time but NOT anymore......
Do you ever do to Dallas LCec? I don't know about you but I find the prices in Arlington, more expensive than in Dallas moreso than most any other place....
So, since prices have increased just about from one city to another, the boycott has failed. But the good news about boycotts is they catch on in time. Let us hope this one catches on before we end up in the poor house, a poor house w/o a roof!

LOL LOL ...a poor house without a roof. That's funny...could be truth in jest. :-)
Since it took me so long in responding, I have seen a lowering of the prices in the past day or so. And you are correct, the prices go up ten cents in one day but only come down a penny each time. One station close to my home has been at $2.93 for a couple of days now.
I don't go to Dallas a lot but I occassionally go to Arlington. I find that the prices in Arlington are slightly lower than they are in Fort Worth, where I live.
