We just went to Frozen Head state park this weekend. It was nice but not the nicest park I've been to. We had a lot of fun hiking and it was really peaceful and not too busy. But I would have to say my favorite state park would be Cades Cove. There are lots of great hiking trails and great activities. Another park I really enjoyed was the Grand Canyon. The views are amazing. I would love to go back there one day and go rafting down the Colorado river.

My favorite park Pictured Rocks National LakeShore park in Munising,Michigan. It is absolutley beautiful. You can take a boat cruise. THey are hiking trails to a lighthouse and also to old lumber camps. Here is a picture of one of the rock formations.

If you ever have a chance to go to Turkey Run State Park in Indiana, you will enjoy it. We like several parks but we don't visit them alot as we like to go to local city parks as they usually have more playground equipment for the kids to play on. It is nice to walk the trails though at the state parks.
The kids and I like to just take a quick lunch and go to a local city park and spend an hour or two. I can read or work on grading their school work etc while they play or we will take a frisbee and play it or something.

Hocking Hills State Park in southern Ohio is a beautiful place. I was there a couple of years ago, and I want to go back. I really got a good workout walking up and down the trails. There were a lot of places with stone steps that I had a little trouble with because I've got arthritis in my knees, but I still had a great time.
