Has anybody seen this movie? It was just shown weeks ago from our local cable TV. It was about racism. Edward Norton was a racist and hates black people. He was put to prison due to brutally, killing a black man, having him bite on an edge of the sidewalk and stepped on his head. From the other movies, Edward Norton had been... This was the movie where he fits best. The story started wrong, it later changed but the past never left. Norton wanted to be a better person for his family, yet some things never changed. Revenge took a turn for his brother which was a very sad ending.

Although I do not like this character, I would have to say that this is one of Nortons best performances ever.

The best, and probably most powerful part of the movie, is how when he gets sent to prison, he ends up becoming buddies with the black people he used to hate so much, and for the first time he actually saw them for their worth as humans. It was funny how they stereotyped cops in the movie though, based on the story of how his black friend ended up in jail :)

American History X is one of my favorite movies. I like the plot, I like the characters, yes, I even like the violence. I guess what I really liked about it is that it shows how one person can change because of one mistake that you committed (in his case, it was because of his arrogance as a white man). The movie talked about reforming yourself and accepting other people as your equal and to learn respect - respect for life and race.
