I have a lot of nieces and nephews. They are very close to me. I'd rather have nieces and nephews than my own. The only reason is I can always return them to their parents. Sounds kinda mean doesn't it? It's not that I don't like kids, I do. I love kids. But sometimes they tend to get outta hand and that's when I take them back to their parents. LOL..... Why do you like being an Aunty? or Do you like being an Aunty?

When I became an Aunt, I was 6 years old, the youngest of three children, so it was more like I became an older sister. So I guess the first time I became an Aunt that is old enough take care for the children was when my middle sister had her children when I was 13. I would babysit when my sister and her husband went to football games. It was cool, I would play with kids and was ready to quit when Mom and Dad came home. ^O^

I do enjoy being an Aunt. It was more fun when my nieces and nephews were younger though. I have one niece who is only 7 years younger than I am. She often felt more like a sister than a niece. My next niece was born 13 years after the first one. I was in my 20's when she was born. Then her brother was born two years later. When those two were little I enjoyed visiting with them and I loved buying them Christmas presents. I loved watching their eyes light up when they opened their gifts. Those 3 are now 30 19 and 17. I still enjoy them, but of course things are differnt now. I also have another nephew, but he doesn't live nearbye. I only get to see him a few times a year. I also have two nieces (twins) that are almost 6 years old. I saw them recently for a little while. They are really cute at that age. I also enjoying seeing my nieces and nephews interact with my own children. Mostly they get along well and are close. The older kids aren't too nice to my youngest, but he is now getting to be the "big kid" for my nieces. That is nice to see.

I agree being an aunty is great for all the reasons you listed and more I guess I love to spoil my nieces and nephews but would never spoil my children like that as it would cause to much trouble in my house lol
