I'mm 55 years young and looking for work all the time. I hate being *good for nothing* but find that most employers will not employ someone of my age because they want young people instead.

I think, it will depend from person to person. I have found many persons, 50+ years young are more enthusiastic towards life than most of the younger age people. So I really believe that it is not the biological age, but the mental age of a person which allows/disallows him/her from learning new things.

May be few of them are but every youngsters even work hard for the fear that when they come to fifty + age they will not be able to work as energetic .so with the elders now a days all of them believe that they cant do anything after a certain age neither they are ready to learn new things nor they stop complain .i think if they are not work under somebody they should seek self emeployment
