Katesmama (3222) | 3 years ago |  which arguement? if the question is "should Elisabeth have defended her friend?" then then i think rosie was right. if the question is "should elisabeth have insinuated that rosie thought american troops were terrorists?" then ro's right again. rosie was refering to the bush administration and the irresponsible way the war has been handled from the begining. i think the most important thing that came from the veiw is that we are able to discuss the absurdity of the status quo the govenment in general has created. it is just unfortunate that some people acknowledge there's a problem, but continue to buy into it (ahem, elisabeth).

Its true Iraq didnt hijack those plans on 9/11 so why are we invading their country? Im 100% on Rosie's side because she states the facts on all her discussions..as far as Elisabeth she needs to really open her eyes and evaluate whats going on around her and stop defending the president because he has done nothing but LET US ALL DOWN!

I dont understand how Elisabeth could have her head so far up the presidents butt that she doesnt see how he screwed things up! Look at what happened with Hurricane Katrina..look at how he "responded" to them, he took forever to get them the help they needed but yet Elisabeth will defend him, he only visited acouple of the troops who were killed in Iraq's funeral..WHY? and Rosie was always bringin that up BECAUSE ITS THE TRUTH!

2.  daycarepal (1111) | 3 years ago |  I think Rosie was right. I had the show recorded and just watched it last night. There were several times when Rosie tried to drop the subject and move on, but Elizabeth kept going at it.
I'm really going to miss Rosie. I love all the excitement she brought to the show. I rarely watched The View before Rosie joined. Once she joined, I began recording the show each day so I could watch it in the evening. Now that she is leaving, I don't know if I will continue to watch. I guess it depends on who her replacement will be.

I agree with you 100% on all accounts.
I think Elizabeth just wouldn't drop it and she was being very defensive when Rosie was asking simple and truthful questions.
I also don't know if I will be watching now that she is gone. She really did open people's minds and mouths, dealing with polotics, and I am so sad to see her go.

I don't think she is really upset that Elisabeth didn't defend her, she doesn't even like Elisabeth. It was just something else she could argue about. I like Rosie as a person, but can find her loud and obnoxious at times. I haven't even watched the show since she's been on. I saw the clip on the Internet. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion in this country, and it bothers me when people are always trying to shove their opinions down other's throats. It doesn't matter whose side it is. I personally think that there are arguments for both sides of this debate about the war, etc and there are very valid points for the war and against the war. You can always find some data that backs up your opinion, no matter what that opinion may be. I really don't walk around broadcasting my own opinion, as it really doesn't matter. People will attack you if you're for the war, people will attack you if you're against the war. I have made the decision to just not talk about it. Saves a lot of problems. Rosie complains that everyone calls her tha fat, loud mouthed lesbian that picks on sweet innocent Elisabeth. But yet people who are for Rosie, think that Elisabeth is a dumb, uneducated moron. It goes both ways.

She made a remark that could have been interpreted as saying the troops are terrorists..although I don't believe that was how she meant it, and that she was referring to the administration and the government. When the media chose to take it the other way, and play that up, Rosie wanted Elisabeth to sit there on the same stage with her and for ELISABETH to explain what Rosie had meant. Why couldn't Rosie be an adult and tell people what she meant, instead of acting like a little child hiding behind her mommy's skirts? The more Elisabeth tried to get her to be responsible for her own words, and speak her own mind, the angrier Rosie got at Elisabeth, and the nastier the exchange got between them.

We all know Rosie doesnt think the troops are terrorists, they are following orders givin to them BY "OUR" president, the media took the words and rearranged them and ROSIE DID EXPLAIN HERSELF, she was just wondering why Elisabeth didnt if she was her so called friend Elisabeth should of said "I know we dont see eye to eye on the war but I know for a fact ROSIE does not think the troops are terrorists" thats what she sould of said but she didnt!!

The point is, if you said something that someone misunderstood, if I were standing right beside you, I would expect YOU to explain what you meant, not to ask ME to explain your words. Rosie was RIGHT THERE.....she could have opened her mouth and said what she meant instead of saying "Elisabeth, tell them what YOU think I meant." She was playing games, plain and simple.
As I've said many times, I love Rosie,and I'm going to miss her being on the show....but I think she was wrong in this argument. She should have behaved like an adult, and admitted that she could have worded her thoughts a little more clearly. | |

Rosie came out telling people what was wrong with Elisabeth because she was her friend and you dont let people talk bad about your friends. The whole situation is unfortunate and I HAVE NOT watched The View since Tuesday..I just dont have interest it in anymore now that my girl Rosie is gone:( | |
