Ever had breakfast for dinner????? |
Have you ever had the craving for breakfast food like pancakes, or cereal or eggs or toast for dinner? Well, I do, a lot. I love having eggs on toast, or a cheese and jam sandwich or french toast for dinner, although normally that is all breakfast food, but it's not like it's a rule is it? I usually skip breakfast, especially since I get up at lunchtime, so I have those delicious otherwise "breakfast foods" for dinner, plus they're really more easier to prepare and make than proper dinner. So tell me, have you ever had breakfast food for your dinner??

vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | Yeah, breakfast food is great for the munchies at night, and I guess it might even be healthier in some cases instead of a big huge dinner.

3. elkhawk (1602) | 1 year ago | Yes. As a matter of fact, I fixed a quiche-like dish last night for dinner. I think something was wrong with the meat in it, though because my wife and I both got upset stomachs. I love eating breakfast for dinner. It seems to taste better at night. We don't do it very often.

vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | oh, I hate upset stomachs, that's like a recurring thing with me... You're right, breakfast does taste better at night. I guess because you don't have the taste of toothpaste in your mouth, like you would in the morning if you had the same food.

elkhawk (1602) | 1 year ago | I've been having a lot of problems with my stomach lately. Not sure what is going on.

vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | Maybe it's some bug or virus or something, I've been having the same and it's really periodic, like every 40 days I get something and it's the same for one of my older sisters as well. I did get it checked out too, but the doc said it's just a little indigestion, I beg to differ, it's more than that, and what concerns me is how punctual the recurring is...

vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | Yeah, me too. There's really no rules for cereal, it's the perfect food, I think they should stop categorizing it as "breakfast" because it can work any time of day.

5. zukepr (10188) | 1 year ago | Well sure! hasnt everyone at some time or the other? My kids love when we do this. Instead of the normal dinner foods, cook a big ole breakfast. Ommelettes, hash browns, sausage, toast and OJ. Who said you cant have breakfast for dinner anyway?

| |
vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | Exactly, it's not like it's some rule or something, right? Breakfast does taste better at dinner.

6. Jakker27 (2739) | 1 year ago | I don't think i have - not recently anyway. I alway have breakfast. It's an important mean of the day people. I don't know why but it's important everyone says so:). I usually have just cereal or maybe a fry up for brekky or maybe even toast so none of that..well fry up aside but that's rare..would take the place of dinner because it's not a lot and I'd be hungry again soon after. I might have something like at 8 after dinner which is kinda breakfast stuff, sandwhiches, cereal or whatever though. goodluck

vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | I'm sure people who have breakfast still like to have breakfast for dinner as well. I like to do it, because breakfast food is just so awesome and it's my only chance to have it, since I'm a breakfast skipper. I know it's supposed to be the most important meal of the day, but I guess when you get up at 11:00 in the morning it's pretty much lunchtime..

7. 4cuteboys (2899) | 1 year ago | Occasionally we do! Sometimes we make eggs, bacon and pancakes for dinner. Not very often though! Occasionally I will order breakfast foods when we are eating out too. My kids love to do this. They think it's a special treat, lol! Their school serves breakfast for lunch occasionally, like a couple of times a month and they always order it!:) I usually skip breakfast too but I don't get to sleep late. I wish!:)

vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | yeah, well, it is the best tasting food, better than most dinners, I would say. So it would be like a treat for anyone..

8. marababe (1450) | 1 year ago | Hi vega83! I also skip breakfast sometimes because I wake up late for it but early for lunch. Anyway, I love breakfast foods also. A lot. Sometimes I even eat it after dinner. As a midnight snack.:)
| |
| |
vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | Well breakfast foods are generally healthy so they definitely would make a better and healthier midnight snack than something like, say, ice-cream.

9. sandwedge (872) | 1 year ago | breakfast for dinner? i have dinner for breakfast... sometimes. i am not a firm believer that certain food belongs to a specific hour of the day. eat what you like and you'd be happy.
| |
| |
vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | Yeah, I'm in the same belief category as you then. So exactly what kind of dinner food do you have for breakfast?
| |
sandwedge (872) | 1 year ago | both my wife and me loves steak so much so twice per week i would fire up the grill early in the morning and throw in big juicy steaks. yummmm...by noon we both would still be slightly full so we end up eating pancakes or just cornflakes while watching tv.
| |
vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | mm... steak for breakfast, that actually sounds good to me. And I guess heavy stuff like that should be earlier in the day, since you have more time to digest it then. Maybe our whole food system is wrong with heavy stuff right before bed and healthy stuff in the morning. Maybe we should all change our whole food system and have breakfast at night, and dinner in the morning and then snack throughout the rest. Sounds good to me!
| |
sandwedge (872) | 1 year ago | it does sound good. you have a point there and i truly agree with you. dinner should be light since we are not using the much energy in the evening close to bed time. for that i award you one +
| |
vega83 (1408) | 1 year ago | wow, man, just one +, I thought I'd have 2 by now, ha ha. It does make sense right, that we should have lighter stuff at night. Who makes these food rules? I need to speak to that person...
