vonne28th (942) | 3 years ago | I've read recently that researchers credit the lycopene in tomato extract for the potential blood-pressure-lowering effects experienced by participants in a recent study, but further research is needed to confirm the findings. And it's not clear how eating whole tomatoes would compare to taking tomato extract. In the study, people took 250 milligrams of commercial tomato extract daily--containing about 15 milligrams of lycopene. That would be equivalent to the lycopene in about 3 or 4 tablespoon of tomato paste. Regardless of the blood pressure benefits, I already know that lycopene has anticancer and heart-protective effects. You have other options for getting your lycopene fix, including watermelon, red grapefruit, and canned baked beans. When your blood pressure creeps up,you can also help knock it down with this simple change in diet. Get 20 percent of your daily calories from whole-grain,high-fiber foods instead of refined "white" carbs. It could drop your systolic blood pressure 4 to 8 points and your diastolic blood pressure another 6 to 8 points.Really! Good luck for your diet.

| jagang (57) | 3 years ago | Maybe the tomatoes just replace the food that causes hypertension. Since the person's full on tomatoes, he/she can't eat more food.
Still, it isn't a bad idea to eat tomatoes, what with the vitamins and all.

2. emckee (339) | 3 years ago | Sounds like it could be true. My fiance suffers from hypertension and he absolutely HATES tomatoes! Even if I have a taco or something I put tomatoes on and can't finish it, he'll try yet nearly gag because he says he can still taste the tomato. Weird.

4. Dmitrizhirkov (1018) | 3 years ago | It doesn´t depends in eating tomatoes or not. Hypertension depends more in the lifestyle and the quantity of sodium in your diet. Eating good meals with an abundance of fruits and vegetables helps too. That aren´t an exactly science to explain the values of the pressions in human vases.

6. sukumar794 (2406) | 3 years ago | Tomatoes are good But how about the gall stones that would become a serious malady later on . Please clarify .....
| |
| |
|
|
vonne28th (942) | 3 years ago | I also thought of that before coz others may said that tomato seeds may create gallstones but i recently found out from one of the television source that talks about health programs, that there are no such facts about that. But i just don't know about that.
