My last furniture I bought was my computer chair. I bought it last month coz I'm hardly used my dining chair and it caused me a back pain so I decided to buy computer chair.

*scratches head* Do you know what i don't think we've bought a brand new piece of furniture before, if we have i really can't think what it would be! All our stuff has been bought second hand or given to us by our parents etc, becuase although we've been together for over 6 ywars we've never really had any money to spend on buying new pieces, it all goes on the bills. The last second hand items we bought would be the two navy blue leather sofas in our living room that we bought from my parents for £100 each (not bad since i think they were 1 or 2 years old and they paid about £1000 each for them) and a pine wooden bed frame that we bought for about £50. We bought them at about the same time, when we moved into our house. I have my eye on some shelf/book case units, they are on a 3 for 2 offer and we could do with the storage! I also need a new office/computer chair as mine broke and i'v been using just a dining room chair for ages now.

Gosh, it's been awhile since we bought anything. My boyfriend came home with some free stuff about a year ago. We have this table where we keep lots of plants that we are starting or herbs we are growing. It's not in great shape, but I think it's the most recent addition to our things. However, we did buy this nice lamp not too long ago as well.

We're trying to get rid of about half our furniture right now.

The last piece of furniture we bought was a dining room set. We got that in January, with our income tax refund.

We just bought a whole lot of furniture, since we just moved. The last piece I bought was a futon, but it won't be delivered until next week. Before that, I think it was a bunch of shelves.

This Computer Desk I am sitting at is the last piece of furniture that I bought for 20 dollars from the trading group in our county. I just got 2 dresser from the freecycle group. If you count the gas which is such a factor nowadays we drove 25 miles to get them and then back. They were the newest things we have gotten since we need so many things after our 4/23 housefire that took everything.

We bought a whole new bedroom set for our room in December. We got a complete queen size bed, dresser with mirror, chest of drawers, and a nightstand.

We're getting ready to move this summer, and when we do, we are getting a table and chairs for the dining room, and a set of toddler bedroom furniture. The bedroom furniture we are getting for our son is Sesame Street and it has a toddler bed, a little table and chairs, and a toy bin.

The last thing we bought was a new queen size mattress. Does that count as furniture?! Before that, I think it was the couch in the livingroom. The mattress we bought last summer. The couch was 2 or 3 years ago I think.

Before you go buy a Computer Desk from Wal-Mart or other retailer, (The ones they sell are usually made of cheap particle board.) check out the unfinished furniture stores. They make the desk out of real oak or pine and you paint or stain it yourself. They can get kind of pricey. I bought an entertainment center with two curio cabinets (one on each end)last year. Even though I have never stained furniture before, they look really good and will make excellent heirlooms.

If you don't have a lot of money to spend, get some budget tips from HGTV. One of my favorite programs on HGTV (Home & Garden Television) is called Design on A Dime. The interior decorator is given a $1,000 to redo the entire room. They usually have excellent ideas. If you don't have cable, go to the bookstore or library and look for the Design on a Dime book. They usually go to thrift stores, used furniture stores and places like Goodwill or the Salvation Army and find some nice piece that need a little tender loving care. You can come with some really cool ideas after seeing the sometimes unique solutions that they come up with on that show.
