I bought a GPS!! :D  

We drive alot, and we ALWAYS get lost, sometimes even when we have been to the place before. Between hubby me and the kids we have a ton of dr appts all over, and we drive to other random places.lol. Its certainly not a necessity though, lol. I feel slightly bad for blowing the money, but we had planned on one for a long time!

Hey, if you get lost and need it, you shouldn't feel bad about it. It's better than driving around aimlessly for hours not knowing where you are going.

We have done that many times. MANY times. Even just going to philly for my son's doctor appt's, we had been to childrens hospital many times, but we still dont know how to get there. I figure eventually the gas i save will help pay for it .lol

So very true.. if you get lost as much as I do the thing will pay for itself within a month or two lol.

LMAO seriously! And it costs like $70 whenever I fill up my van, so it's best not to waste the gas..lol!!

Ouch! that is a lot of money... makes me so happy that I traded in my full-sized van and got a little car. My van took over $85 to fill it up when gas was only $2.74, I can't imagine what it would cost now at $3.20! As it is it takes over $45 to fill up my little car.

Wow! How do you work it with a little car and the kids? I'd love a little car...lol I hate my big boat van. Hubby is buying a jeep wrangler when he comes home, I'm jealous! So small!!

We never go anywhere as a whole family in one car. We actually have 2 small cars, one is a two door which is the one that gets the great gas mileage. I can fit 2 carseats in the back with just enough room to squeeze the 11 year old's rear in between them(believe it or not there are 3 seatbelts back there). Then my son sits upfront, hubby doesn't get out much so it works for now. Lucky for my my oldest is out on her own with a car of her own.

I actaully have to look for a car to rent come August, we have to make a 700 miles trek (one-way) to a family reunion. Prying gas prices come down some before then lol.

Wow! See I don't like to drive much, so that would be tough for us. Usually when hubby is home, he drives us all over in the van. I'd love to get away with two small cars though! Or no cars. I'd love to live somewhere I could just walk to everything or public transportation would be readily available. The only plus is a tank of gas lasts me a pretty long time, especially when it's just me. We get about 400 miles to a tank.

That isn't bad at all, my little car takes about 14 gallons and we get about 325-350 miles from it. When I had the beast (full-sized van) it was a 33 gallon tank and we only go about 250 miles if we were lucky.

HA yes! I did buy it on ebay! It was $100 cheaper than amazon though, so I was pretty excited..lol
I have had problems with mapquest too! Like there would be closed roads, or other issues and I was like um now what. lol. My husband and I both have lousy sence of direction too. It's funny. That's part of why I wanted it, for appt's in different cities. Usually were like borderline late as it is, so getting lost doesnt help..lol!!

I know about being boarderline late... when you have so many kids to try and get ready and get out the door you almost have to plan on leaving an hour earlier just to walk out the door with barely enough time to get there lol. Then add getting lost into it and I always wondre why I didn't just stay in bed that day.

OMG me too..lol. There are times I've gotten to appt's like close to tears because here I am walking out the door, and one poops, and one barfs..lol and we get to the car and leave and then we're lost! haha.

oh yeah, the one I got says turn left in 50 feet i think?! it talks, so i imagine its telling me where to go, although i am terrible at judging distance so i dont really know how far 50 feet is..LOL

LMAO!! Well if there is only one street going to the right and it says to turn left you know you don't turn there lol. I am horrible with directions (north, south, east, west) so I would hope it would just say go straight or forward.

HA me too! I can get to places by my lousy memory, and my hubby will ask is that 295 north or south, and I have to tell him I have no idea! I just know that's how you get there..lol!!!

Maybe a GPS for her this year then? hehe. I will let everyone know. I am anxious to get it now. I am worse than a kid at Christmas. I like that it talks. Because I can't read a map at all. lol
I wonder if you can use this kind for hiking too? I know like practically nothing about GPS's

I'm interested to hear how easy it is to set up and learn. Those things sound like they're really easy, but I would like to make sure. You can be our lab rat (hehe.)

The hiking one that I have is rather complicated.

Yay! The mylot gps labrat. Do I get cheese if I do a good job? I hope it's easy. I am SO dumb with technology, and I get mad easy! I remember getting my cell phone in the mail and not being able to get the SIM card in (once i figured out what a sim card was) and giving up..lol. I can't give up on this though I really want it to work!

Take my advice on this, 4cuteboys. Whatever you do, if you get angry, DO NOT throw the Tom Tom.

LOL thanks for telling me that and remind me again when it comes and I am getting angry! I have thrown lots of useful electronics in my day, sigh
