| Do you have a Canon Digital Camera Problem? Then read it  | | | |  Hey!
We have bought a canon power shot A70 last year from US best buy but this May we suddenly found its LCD is gone, I cant see any picture thru my LCD , only some horizental lines are comming up. Then I surfed a lot in net to get some solution and found in the Canon US and Canon Uk site that it is a manufacturer defect not only for power shot but a lot other canon series digital camera as well and they are providing free service for this whether you have warranty or not-that doesnt matter. But the canon US is paying the potsal cost for sending the camera to the service center and get back it after repairing where as the UK is not. But anyway, now I have to send mine to them quickly. I dont know how long they will give this free service.
Anybody here has a problem like this? Then go to canon.com or canon.co.uk and get the instruction.

| |  Yes, I too have similar problem, and have sent my Canon digicam back for similar service twice. After getting the cam, and only taken less than 50 pictures, the problem persisted. I know I will have to send it in again. It is serviced for free in my place ....

How many time you can send for free service? I dont know what will happen to mine but I am very sorry to hear this. You are the first one I found having same problem like me. I dont know anybody else here has the problem. Where are you from? If US then you dont have to pay any postal charge? Oh God! | | | |

| | To tell you the truth, there are quite many people with this problem. Some send their cams to the shops, others straight to the service centre.
I don't know how many times they will service for free, but since it is not our fault, Canon should consider it life time! I did consider allowing a camera expert to fix it, but he told me, the parts are expensive and not worth the trouble. So, the Canon service centre is the only hope I have.
Of course, after this experience, I bought digicams from some other brand names but still look at Canon line of cameras with admiration.
