Jose Rizal: American-Sponsored Hero?

I have just recently scanned a book entitled Veneration Without Understanding and it says there that Dr. Jose Rizal, our hero, was an American-sponsored hero because during his time, the commonwealth era itself, is American-sponsored. What do you think?

would it matter now if he is american sponsored? all i can say is that he is fit for a hero for the things he have done in the country...

nice response you have here. and if i were to choose between him and andres bonifacio, it would definitely be rizal.
