well if u want to get a snapshot of the screen u actually see,press 'PrtSc' button on ur keyboard and open some photo editing software like 'PAINT' or adobe photoshop and paste it there(ctrl+V).you will have the snapshot printed there

that's right you can use print screen button and paste it anywhere you'd like, paint, word or whatever. you can use snag it application if you want to go advance. you get to pick which part of the screen you want to take and do some editing right away all in one application. programmers use snag it to make documentation and manuals. it's a lot easier then using print screen.

Just open the application you want to capture in your desktop, then just click the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard and open the "Paint" utility in Windows and just paste it, the picture will be saved as if it was taken by a camera, save it in your desired format and use it wherever you want.
