Rose bushes.  

You can buy special plant food, even specifically rose food if you like. It also doesn't hurt for people to pick the blooms (if they don't get too crazy with it). Once a bloom is removed or dies, simply clip the stem about 3-4 inches below where the bloom was and with many types of rose bushes, you'll soon get a new rose.

Yes they need fertilizer they sell it in most stores like Walmart,Kmart,Lowe's or any hardware store I noticed my roses did alot better after fertilizing them with rose food. They get bigger last longer and bloom more roses. I had problem with teh kids picking mine and bringing them to me saying here I picked you a lower then I explained to them that they shouldn't pick them so then they left them alone. Oh and maybe you should read up on some types of roses because they will need pruned also or they will die..and then you won't have then to look at next year.. Don't forget to occasionally water and I hope things turn out great for you and the roses so you can coninue to be blessed with their scent and beauty.

Picking the roses is not a bad thing. Plants use energy to maintain their flowers. So cutting them off allows the plant to redistribute that energy into making new flowers. Also keeping them pruned is a great thing to encourange new growth. A rose food only needs to be used about every 2-3 months. So don't over do it. Good luck and enjoy your roses!

Im not sure but I have 2 as well and I was wondering how to make them more living. I did prune them down but they look as if they are going to die.

I have not known much about Roses either, but when we bought this place, I started learning because I have them all over! I have red climbing ones, and bushes, and pink ones. I even rooted some from the pruning, and planted them that are now growing. (For that, you get hormone root starter & follow directions)
I give mine Miracle Grow. They have it just for Roses. It works really well.
