It depends on how well done you like your noodles. But the easiest way for me? Pull one out, toss it at the wall, if it sticks, it's not done yet. LOL now when you are done cooking your noodles and have drained it, make sure and spray cold water over them for a moment. it helps shock them so they don't stick together. Or you can even try putting a little bit of olive oil in the noodles after you drain them to keep them from sticking together.

LOL Thanks!! I've learned to be proficient with noodles b/c my wife won't cook them. She never knows when they're done either, and isn't willing to throw pasta at the walls. She just laughs when i do it!

If it's spaghetti noodles, I cook it the length stated on the package and when I think it's done, I use the big plastic spoon that I stir it with, and I put some noodles on the side and try to cut them with the spoon. If they cut easily, then I know for sure it's done!!

I usually set a timer when I am cooking the noodles. However, I always pull one out and taste it to feel the texture to know if its really done.

I take a noodle out of the water, let it cool of and eat it =) I don't really know any other way of doing it...I have to try things myself to know if it is good or not!! If my husband tried one and said it was done I would still have to try it myself to make sure!

Usually the packet says roughly give it 9 mins or so once the water starts to boil, I time it and then test it by trying one or two.

I throw mine on the cabinet to see if it sticks and I know its done. My mom always did it and I picked it up from being with her.

I have alway done the same thing. I taste one to see if its done. Someone told me once that if you throw a spagetti noodle against the cupboard and it sticks its done. Wierd. I tried this once. My husband laughed at me for throwing noodles at the cupboard and the kids wanted to try!!!

I usually taste them and see how they taste , if they are still hard then I know they have to be cooked longer but if it taste soft then I know they are ready . I always time them and usually start checking on them when the time runs out as sometimes they have to be cooked longer then others for some reason . I did hear that some people threw a piece at the wall and if it stuck then it was ready and did try this once and it did work but the idea of throwing food at my wall makes me lose my appetite and then I am not much in the mood for eating lol .

lol my responses are way to funny I couldn't help but to laugh so hard, this has been a really fun discussion, for me anyways! Its amazing how we all have different ways of thinking and doing things! For me i usually have it set just bu stirring it knowing its done, but there are sometime when I am not completely sure and that when I will go ahead and try one =) Thanks so much for your response =) Stacy

I pull one out of the pot and taste it, If it is to my liking, then I stop cooking it. That is the most fool-proof way, I think.

I used to toss them up at the ceiling to see if they stuck. After a while there were quite a few dried noodles glued to the ceiling! - Angel (http://theyreourchildren.blogspot.com)
