I've often wondered if the gas prices are actually just that. Prices. Or if they are simply a way to get more money out of us.
Who's to say that the gas prices they claim are rising aren't really rising... but they are lying to us all about how much we're really supposed to pay? What are your thoughts?

With the profits of the big oil companies, I say someone is getting rich off of the rest of us.

First off, price gouging was investigated and found not to be happening.
Secondly, Who cares? It's capitalism. In any other industry we wouldn't even care. Companies are free to charge whatever they want for their product...

I think it's a ploy of course, but I think they migh tbe doing it for the right reason, to reduce gas emissions and to svae the earth if it's not too late. There are too many people out there speeding down the road in SUV's who don't give a crap that our children will be living in an entirely different world.

In theory they are justified, if you consider that we are fast running out of conventional fuels, and that they are the major contributor to pollution & global warming. However, i think the petroleum industry is taking advantage of these factors to gouge us on prices.
