Midwives Vs Doctor's

I had looked into having a midwife this time around, but I had found I didn't rally care to much for the service. Now this I think is because I already have 7 children and one of there offerings is to come and visit like once a week to see how mom and baby are doing. I didn't really care for this idea for me I know I'm busy as it is and to have this would be a big waste of time. I know what all my other kids I had them they got their needle and I was out of there and of course staying on top of Doctors appointments ect. If I found there to be a problem I would for sure make a Doctor;s appointment or go to the nearest emergency room. Has anyone take the midwife route and if so how did you like it?
