Laundry dilema email this discussion to a friend?

Every time I get all my kids laundry done, my daughter (almost two), empties out their entire dresser all over the floor! I walk in the room and find a disaster of all the clothes that I put away so neatly. This drives me crazy!!! Does anyone else have the same problem?

I have a similar issue. my daughter will put the clothes away but she won't put them away she will put them in the floor or in the corner or something. Then when she takes off her dirty clothes she will just throw them where ever she wants instead of put them into her hamper. Then she doesn't know which ones are clean and which ones are dirty so I end up having to wash them all again. makes me so mad!

I have considered making her wash her own clothes to teach her a lesson! Of course your daughter is not old enough to know she is doing wrong. I would just make her help you put the clothes back away.

WOW!! 5 kids and your still sane? Let me just say, your AMAZING!! Between school and kids, I'm so done at two! I know what you mean about not bothering some days. Sometimes I leave them in a pile in the chair upstairs.

My little one is only 4 months so hes not old enough to do anything like that yet, but I would sit your daughter down and explain to her that mommy worked really hard to put her clothes away for her. Then tell her that mommy cant get other stuff done if she keeps taking the clothes out and that if she wants mommy to play with her more then shes gotta leave the clothes alone so mommy can get her chores done faster. Which means more play time with mommy. Then have her help put the clothes away and give her a lil reward or something for helping. Then tell her if shes good and dont mess with the clothes anymore you'll reward her. It doesnt have to be something like a toy or candy or anything like that. Maybe a trip to the park or a walk around the block. Tell her each day if she doesnt mess with the clothes she'll get to have a reward at the end of the week. Then maybe each friday or something after everything in the house is done take her to the park or something to show her if shes good all week she'll get a reward. You might try something like that. Also make her help put clothes away each time she takes them outta the drawer. Pretty soon she'll get tired of having to help fold them and put them away also.
