What is your phobia?

I am having a hard time with my phobia. I hate it but it makes me crazy. It all started when I was in elementary years. I have a phobia in snakes since I had a very close encounter of such animal. I really envy those who even consider snake as a pet. What about you, do you have any other phobia?

My phobia is fear of having my photo taken. Seriously. I start to shake and become really nervous when I have to have my photo taken. My heartrate increases, it is hard to breath and I feel like I might faint. It is very unpleasant. I know that it is not dangerous - but that changes nothing. I guess people may have the strangest phobias. I knew a woman that was afraid of flowers. She could not be in the same room as them.

That is very strange to have a phobia with flowers. How can a guy give flowers to her? LOL.Yes I have the unpleasent feeling too of getting afraid and experiencing heart beat of more than twice the usual. I sometimes shake just like you. LOL.

Chocolates are sometimes much more cheaper than flowers if you can't pick from your own garden. Hehehe. Thank you!

Now I know your phobia my friend. No do not try to let me imagine holding those creatures. Hehehe you know what? While reading your lines it have said "yuck" so many times in my head. LOL. Thanks for reply.

Phobia of the complete darkness and height. Maybe i am afraid of worm or lizard.. but sometimes it don't matter much. Or anything else like blood.. i think i still manage to take control of myself.
But not if i am in the complete darkness. I cannot breath, cannot think straight.. often i feel like i want to cry and scream. I hate it.... really hate it.

My friend complete darkness is really scary but if that's your phobia try to always bring a flashlight or emergency lamp with you. I also hate my phobia with snake, just like you. Its really hard bearing with fears and phobia.

Are you into some allergy? I do have this officemate who's sister experience an allergy with the change in climate. Then she started her phobia in changing climates in extremes. I too throw out a magazine when I onced read it and suddenly saw, in the middle of the magazine, a portrait of a snake.

Ohh I hate snakes and every little creeping creatures with little feet.. i mean i can look at it but couldn't bear to touch it, really freaks me out, like roaches ugh! I just hate roaches... about snakes a almost stepped into one in our backyard. I totally frozed to realize it passed between my feet.Really scary for me...

I used to have a phobia of snakes but the funny thing about it is I started to watch Steve Irwin as he dealt with all kinds of animals and I was fascinated how he handled snakes. He called them beautiful and that they are not out to harm people. After watching his program for a piece of time I started to get more relaxed about snakes. Now don't get me wrong. I have no intention of picking them up or even visiting the reptile area of the zoo. But now when I have walked up on one I have more understanding and so don't freak out. I have two other phobias that I have not been able to overcome. One is the fear of high places. My husband has tried to get me up on a ferris wheel with no success. He makes the comment that it is not that far off the ground and all I mention to him is my feet are going to be no place but on the ground. He just shakes his head. The other phobia I have is fear of enclosed spaces. I can't ride elevators because of this. Any kind of small enclosure just makes me go crazy. My husband doesn't understand why I am afraid of these things but than he doesn't have any fear of anything so a person that has no fear can not understand someone that does have a phobia about something.

Our fears or phobias really differ, yet the way we react is just the same. People without phobia can be lucky for me, not to experience a very crazy thing from within.
I have over come my phobia in watching the snakes on tv but I still can't do it in magazines of books. TV just heled me in a special way just like you. I now can watch the snake in the zoo, like about meters away but still hates seeing it moving when am near. Grrr feeling here. LOL.

i'm afraid of flying cockroach.. is that a phobia.. i'm afraid of lizard, especially when it touches my skin.. ewwww... i can imagine it right now.. and i'm afraid if no one's gonna love me..

hhmmmm this made me think. i think the only phobia that i have is being killed by a tricycle or getting run over by a car in front of our school. that would really be an embarrassing way to die, because our streets are really small and the traffic is not that busy hahaha!

That is very funny my friend. LOL. There's a subdivision away from the heart of the city, where the house of my brother is located. Now I stay in there, and just like you said, it will be very embarrassing to be hit by a vehicle since most of the time the road is empty.

mine is the same i cant even look at them on tv...i lived in nigeria when i was younger till i was 8 years old,when i was 7 years old coming back from school i saw one crossing the road ahead and from then on av been scared ever since...

That's what happened to me too. I saw it crawling very near my feet. After running in our house I can't erase the fear. Thanks my friend, GOD bless!
