In our area you don't see much graffetti but when we go to our closest nearby city you will find graffetti all along the roads , on the bridges and buildings that are no longer being used .So my question is if Graffiti is creative, is vandalism art.

I think graffetti is a way that teens are showing how they feel and a way for them to express themselfs, I find it is a form of art and that they shouldnt be punished for it, There is famous artist now that used to do graffetti as kids and this is how that got noticed.

People fooling around with spray paints would probably not be considered art, but I have seen some amazing graffiti that obviously took a lot of skill to create. I would say these people have a lot of talent and though maybe it is being used in a way most people consider to be inappropriate, it is still artwork. Anything that a person puts a lot of time and thought into that is meant to express oneself is usually considered to be art. I'm sure the people who own the buildings that are painted on don't appreciate it, but, that doesn't change what it is.

I would not consider Graffeti as art as it is done in bad taste. People do it because of the lack of respect they have for private property. Any kind of drawings that is done with bad taste or bad intentions should not be considered art. It is ashame people do these things. People do it to buildings, stop signs, neighborhood signs and many other places.

In a way, I think. We think that it is vandalism because it is being done on the walls where it should not be. But grafetti is a form of expression. It tells a certain message be it, non-conformity, contempt, peace etc. We have graffiti shirts and apparels being designed by what we call graffiti artist. One of the designer shoe brand in the U.S is Marc Ecko and Ecko Red which is being designed by Marc Ecko, a graffiti artist. Graffiti is an art and not vandalism. So vandalism, in all its sense is never an art.

Graffiti is nice, but I don't agree with spoiling old walls or monuments or things with spray paintings...

Whenever I see Grafitti, it repulses me. While I have only seen a couple that showed talent, it just made the surroundings of that area look more worn down and depressing. Most of the time it is just a complete eyesore. When I see Grafitti, it only makes me think negative of that area and want to leave and be someplace much nicer like a beautiful beach or lake. It is disrespectful when you see it on bridges and buildings. If they want to contribute, take a can of paint that matches and help restore the building to a more beautiful state.

Some say that graffitti is considered art. But I think it is a sign of gangs marking their territories.

Hello, samtaylorskykierajen, graffiti has been a seriosu problem in sydney. You can always see graffiti at the train station, subway, or at the corner of a street. I do not know how to appreciate graffiti, i just know much money had to be spent to clear them, they only cause damage to the beautiful buildings and destroy the walls of the streets. They should be considered vandalism more than an art. May be the government should allocate some areas for those artists to show their drawings to the public. Those graffiti makers should be punished

Hi samtaylorskykierajen! I think graffiti is art, the walls are just a medium the artist choose to express himself, just like another mediums. Graffiti is a way to show the artist's indignation of society, to society. It's considered vandalism cause it uses public space, but I guess that if there were more places where people could express themselves this won't happen.
