Candybar Phones vs. Flip-phones: Who will win the war of phones?

I'm on the side of flip-phones, despite the fact that I own a candybar Motorola L6. (I got it when I broke my other phone, a Samsung.)
I like flipphones because I'm constantly putting stuff in my pocket that will scratch a phone, like loose change, car keys, and other small objects, so I really don't want a scratched LCD screen.

Slide phones. They are absolutely great, just look at the Samsung D-600 or D-900.
As to scratched LCD screens: if you don't take care where you're putting your phone, with a flipphone you change a scratched screen for a scratched outside surface. Better have a special place for your phone, the good ones a pretty costly, I at least have to take care of it :)

I'm afraid of slide phones, too! I would always wonder if it slid open in my pocket and was dialing numbers. Does your lock down when it slides? I've always wondered that.
I like that D-600, it seems ok.
Have you ever seen the Nokia-N95? It's wayyyyy awesome. Pretty pricey, too.
