Both, but probably electric guitar as I used to play it a couple of years ago. :)

i think weather u use a electric or an acoustic guitar basses on the situation.... bt wht i mostly prefer is da electric guitar... coz i cn use distortion and other effects... if nt a an acoustic guitar is the same 2 me...

I prefer them both. Each have their unique sense, even though electric guitars have evolved so much that now they can sound like a real acoustic. But still, you won't be able to do anything with an electric guitar without an amp and some electric source :P

Electric has a smooth feeling in the playing but acoustic are mellow in the sound so it just depends on the situation

I have both. Depends on my mood. Some things are better on the eclectric and some things are better on the acoustic.

The style I'm learning now favors the acoustic.

I have a question in response, " for what?" I certainly wouldn't expect most contemporary classical guitar to be done with a heavily distorted electric and likewise if I ever heard a death metal band that only used acoustic instruments I don't think it would have the same effect.
Most of the rockabilly from the 50's would have sounded terrible on an acoustic guitar. Jazz too. and neither of them used a bunch of effects or distortion. I can't have a preference for either since they both have impacts in all of the music I play. I do prefer rock music though which typically has electric guitars.

ya man i like the electric overall but id say bass is pretty cool to although there s not as many songs to be played
