I'm looking for useful websites that might help my preschooler learn to read. She knows most of her alphabet, but we're having difficulty making the transition into reading. Also, if there are any sites that have online story books, that would be helpful too. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Try reading the Dr. Seuss Beginner Series of books like Hop on Pop. Reading them over and over and teaching the sounds of the letters is something kids love. Also try googling Phonics Games for activities. There are some that are free and downloadable. Take a look at Word Whammer Fridge Phonics by Leap Frog at www.etoys.com You can buy it anywhere but take a look at it there. It is magnetic an sticks on your fridge and teaches phonics sounds. Kids plug in letter blocks and the unit pronounces them.

LEAP FROG! I love it! ANYTHING leapfrog! LOL. There are some really good vidoes as well at walmart in the toy section. I think that there are 3 or 4 of them. My 3 yr old now recognizes all of his alphabets
