Japanese Animes v/s American Animes |
| |
| Which ones do you think is inferior and more jerky? The Japanese made ones or the American ones. For a bit of comparisons, have you ever watched Speed Racer,Astro Boy,Sailor Moon, Pokemon,Dragonball(of Japananese) or Teen Titans,Martin Mystery Mazinger, Robotech and Battle of the Planets(of North Americans and Europeans)? All credits to Walt-Disney and its creator and The Simps.,that have helped shown Americans their imaginative power and animation potential. But do we still see Americans still slacking in the anime makings noticing the fact that animes are no longer limited to video gamers and comic conventions.Or are they still? | | | | | |

| | Japanese Anime! I think the difference between Japanese Anime and American Anime is that Japanese Anime is a lot better! Storyline, character's personality, and of course better drawing and art. | | | | | | |

| | I begin to hate JP comic now. I like it years ago, but I do not find the interesting thing in it anymore. But when I watch the animes from Disney or France and other productor, I find they are full of imagination and meaning inside. | | | | | | |

| | You must be 'growing' which may be the reason why you wanna dump all those stacks of comic books from your drawer. But its a fact that we can't deny. If put lill' creativity they can look more real.Animated films and TV shows like The Shreks,The Simps.,Disneys,Happy Feet,to mention few have gotten more appreciations from all over the globe. | | | |

| | I'll prove that wrong,i am afraid. Anime or animation is the word given to the man-made drawings/art that are being made to move, speak,do chores like living beings. They are our imaginative, illusive art that are made to locomote and talk digitaly. So whether its a TV Show or the films if we have these elements in them they are categorised into animations. 'The Shrek' or the 'Happy feet' is an animated film. And like these,Americans do make lot of animations today. The only difference is that Japs create lot more imaginative drawings that are lot more real,i'd say. | | | |

| | Well... there is no such thing as American anime. American cartoons trying to copy Japanese style are still cartoons, and all animation from Japan is anime because 'anime' is simply the Japanese word for 'animation'. Though I love Disney movies and have watched many American cartoons growing up, anime is so much better. The animation quality, detail, backgrounds, acting, and the sheer variety found in anime are a hundred times better than American cartoons. Plus, there are thousands of titles to choose from and there are series made for all ages, while American cartoons are almost exclusively for children except for a select few like the Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park. I think when you compare anime and american cartoons as a whole, there is really no contest. | | | | | | |

| | you said it right. I really wonder why some people think of cartoons as anime. they are completely different although they are in the same genre. I like some cartoons too but I like animes much better. cartoons are mostly and usually for kids while animes reach to a more wider audience. anime ga daisuki! ^__^ | | | |

| | Like i said, animation is the word given to the man-made drawings/art that are being given life to move, speak,do chores like living beings. To animate is to give life to.The 'Anime'is a word that describes Japanese style of motion-picture animation, characterized by highly stylized, colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sexuality. It was originated in Japan but today its popular and standard all over. They are our imaginative, illusive art that are made to locomote and talk digitaly and are categorised into animations.Americans or any other nations are taking inspirations from these Japanese Animes and trying to create their own style of animations ,whether its a TV Show or the films. 'The Shrek' or the 'Happy feet' is an animated film. And like these,Americans do make lot of animations today. The only difference is that Japs create lot more imaginative drawings that are lot more real,i'd say.Other differences like 'highly stylized colorful art' and often 'futuristic settings' and 'adult themes'(violence and sexuality)that are present in Jap. Animes are missing in Americans. They probably want to stick to figurative teddies or mickey mouse or any cute animals like Penguins and Ducks.lol

| | Anime is definitely -not- characterized by futuristic settings, violence and sexuality... Those are only elements of different genres of anime. The word Anime applies to every genre of Japanese animation from Hello Kitty to the most violent, adult themed shows. Any cartoon that comes from Japan is anime no matter what it's about. The stylized art is the one thing that remains somewhat consistent, though even the way each anime is drawn varies incredibly depending on the genre and animation studio. | | | |
