What baby bottle did you use?  email this discussion to a friend?

My son uses Avent ones right now. But I didn't save many so I am deciding if I want to use those again for the new baby or try something else. I kind of like the playtex with the drop in liners, but I don't know. I worry about running out of liners in the middle of the night or something, haha. What bottles did you or do you use with your little ones?

You know I tried all those fancy bottles that supposedly helped keep air out and avoid gas. They dont work, or at least I didnt notice any difference in my fussy baby from one type to the next. So I just used the plain old dollar store ones.

I used the bottles that are bent funny to reduce air....I can not remember it has been a couple of years...LOL

I used the ones with the drop in liners with my daughter 29 years ago....they have made improvements since then...back then you had to bend the top of the liner over the bottle and hope that you got enough of it under the lid....I can also understand about running out in the middle of the night....knowing me, if I used them, I would be done bottle feeding and have a dozen back up boxes of liners...LMAO scared of running out....

The fact that the liners are single use....means that they are sterile so I would like that....

I know that you will find the ones you like...and if your children are like mine...Ashton (did I get that right?) won't like them and you will have to but a whole different kind anyways...

Baby with a Bottle

Yes, I like that they are single use! Always super clean!! I would have a bunch of boxes too..lol.
I remember the kind you are talking about! You had to fold them over the rim of the bottle. I used those in daycare before, that was awful! I never did a good job!!!Ashton, yes!!
I had to buy one of every kind with cooper, he would either suck and nothing would come out, or they would pour all over his neck..lol, I ended up giving a bunch of them away, I should have kept em!

Hooray!! I am finally done with bottles as of 2 weeks ago, thank goodness!! When I did use bottles I used the Playtex ones with the plastic liners. I really did not like the drop in liners compared to the ones you folded over the rim, not sure why just didn't care for them. Maybe they were more money. But prior to those ones I did use the small Ventaire bottles that were curved shaped, both my boys took a liking to those.

I tried using Avent with 2 of my kids and i couldnt only because their checks were so chubby and the width of the entire nipple made it difficult for them to drink.LOL but i just used regular bottle i think there were the parents chice ones from walmart with the clear teether nipples.

LOL!! Those avent nipples are big!!!
Oooh yeah, I should check out walmart, they have a big bottle section!

You might want to try Babies R Us if there is one near you. That is where I got all my bottles from, they have a huge selection, a lot bigger than Wal-mart in my opinion.

I bought a giant starter box of playtex bottles, two boxes each of the small and large liners. I boiled every nipple, as I bought a pair of every kind that goes with the bottles, and ya know what, my girl was solely breatfed and would never even try a bottle! Ya want em? Take em! LOL

I used the really simple bottles. We had one avent one and I didn't like it much. We had a bunch of playtex ones, I think thats what they were, but they didn't have the liners in them. I never used any with liners. We didn't use bottles much until my daughter was 8 months old because I breastfed her most of the time. I've heard that the ones with the liners are the best though.

My son didn't drink a bottle very often, only when I was at work or we were at church or something. The rest of the time I breastfed him, until he weaned himself. And when he weaned himself, he went to a sippy cup. When he did drink out of bottles, he wasn't picky at all. He would drink out of whatever we gave him. The ones we used the most when he was really little were the Playtex Ventaire ones. They were easy to wash, and they were supposed to give him less air. We quit using them because we couldn't find replacement things that go in the bottom of the bottle. Our cat chewed 2-3 up, and some of the others just got worn out. So then we switched him mostly to the drop ins. The best thing about that was that if I pumped, I could pour it into a milk storage bag, and it would work in the bottle. They were also really easy to clean. I did overstock on the regular drop in liners, too, though! We have two boxes of the 4 oz ones and a box and a half of the 8 oz ones. We thought he would be on the bottle a lot longer than he was.

Both my kids used the platex bottles with liners. I liked it because it was less clean up at the end of the day.
