probably know someone in need, rather it's food for there kids, medicine, clothing, needs car repair to get back and forth to work, maybe needs to see a doctor but don't have the funds for the office visit, or possible behind on there rent or mortgage payment, electricity notice of power going to be turned off. If you know people in this situation where there is no other alternative local resources for assistance have them to make a request to http://www.modestneeds.org Or, you can make a request on there behalf. Modestneeds is supported by donations and where the majority of the donations are gifting others in need for a hand up not a hand out. http://www.modestneeds.org When you get the time, visit modestneeds website and read the history how modestneeds began.

I checked out the website and I think that this program is amazing. I wish I would have known about it a couple of months ago. My husband was injured at work in September 2005 and has since been on workers compensation. I can tell you that this has definitely put a strain on finances, especially when the checks were coming late. Thank God they have become regular again. Come the start of the school year he will go back to school for 2 years to learn a new trade. Hopefully, things will return to "normal" then. But also I like how this is for everyday people who just have an unexpected expense. Myself I have been trying to budget a trip to the dentist (maybe someday soon). But for a REAl emergency this program is a God sent. Thanks to all the people who are making this happen.

Hi Pecksgirl.... I had made a post on modestneeds a few months ago but I paced in the new dicussions instead of the topics. Sorry, you missed it. Glad you visited the site and you can pass the site on to others that may run into unxepected emergencys. Hope your husband fully recovers from his injury. As you stated, I know the expenses certainly put a strain for both of you. Put a request in to modestneeds.org and they may assist you. I would say you have a valid claim and you have documentation of your husbands injury. Most likely be gifted to see the dentist. I'm only a friend of modestneeds like thousands of other peolpe are. There's lot of interesting information on the site, also the registered members, which free for anyone to become a friend with modestneeds. This would be a good topic for you to run with on mylot for discussion. This is only my second post. I do have some ideas that I can you with you with, but I rather not go into that on this discussion topic.
