I think it is cheapest to do research on the net and then to book as well using the net. I notice that the large chains of travel agents only book their own travel products. By researching on the net it is possible to compare and contrast different deals available. Travel agents may provide the average holiday but I think it is more fun planning it myself using the net.

I got a great deal for 2 vacation packages using an out of state agent. My hubby and I went to Reno and it cost us $368 for the air and 5 star casino resort. But I think it was just the right time when we called them. hugs

I personally find that I get better deals online. Check all of the websites and then check with a travel agent becase sometimes they have certain deals that they can offer that you would never come across online.

The last trip I went on I booked through a travel agent in another state and got a vacation package with air - hotel (5 star) to reno for $358 and that was for 2 travelers. So It may have been just that I called at the right time. hugs
