Mine is satin. I simply hate trying to get that slithery stuff to stay where I want it. Even just cutting the stuff out is horrid. I had to put weights all along the edges of the fabric or it did it's best to slither off the table. And, when you put pins in it the holes stay there. And, don't even try to take a seam out and do it again. I just hate satin. Even if it is beautiful after it's done. To me it's not worth the effort.

Cotton is my favorite, too. I don't like t-shirt knit though. Have you ever tried that? It's almost as hard to sew as satin. It always wants to curl up at the edges and you constantly have to unroll it. I like flannel as well. It's easy to sew, in my opinion.

i also hate having to sew with satin you are right that it is slippery and slithery and it does not stay where you want it to when you are trying to sew it and it often get in a hurry and sometimes misplace my needle and when you take the needle out of the satin it leaves a tiny needle hole the satin cloth cannot be rubbed back together like cotton or alot of other cloth can be so you can tell that you misplaced the needle and messed up putting weights on the edges of the cloth is a good idea i will have to try that
