Iceland and Greenland

Is Iceland really icey and Greenland really green?

i have actually heard its the opposite! how funny! think some of the earlier posters have elaborated on this. But yea, greenland is mostly ice from what i have read.

No, from what I have always understood and learned yrs. ago from someone who has been to Greenland, is Greenland is ICY and cold, and Iceland is the one that is Warm and Green. It is just the names that make everyone think it is the other way around.

From what I understand it's the other way around. When I was in Iceland, there wasn't any ice on the ground, and when I flew over Greenland all I could see was ice! LOL I have no clue how they picked names for those two spots.... it still baffles me.
